Social Media Marketing
Our assignment this week is to discuss social media marketing which is a very open topic.
Mashable had an article discussing 170+ job openings in digital media, sales and more. Social media and Mashable are growing! The economy has recovered and companies are more and more leveraging social media
Side posting about social media round up for the week ending 4/21/2013
This week social media sites have been filled with the tragic events in Boston and Texas, which shouldn't be a surprise. However it should be shocking that so many people were trying to be vigilantes through social media using twitter feeds, grainy video feeds, etc. Boston police had to tweet out to stop giving away tactical positions via social media.

So I think that social media plays a critical role in society. We have already seen governments toppled through collaboration on social media sites, and now we have just witnessed a city-wide manhunt play out on social media. Plus a leader is using social media to deny involvement, which is unimaginable a few years ago.
The other things that I wanted to mention in social media this week is that Twitter is getting into the online music store business. You would think that there are enough players in that space but I guess not.
Sharing one on one through the web is gaining ground. RT @SocialMedia411: Beyond the broadcast: New social tools encourage one-on-one sharing: http://t.co/uzardd7PT6
I see this more as sharing through an but not wanting to blast it to your 400 friends on Facebook or Your twitter followers.
